Context_

Located on the north bank of the Cumberland River in Nashville, TN, the NCRC is just a short walk from downtown Nashville. The Rowing Center provides a central linkage with the people of Nashville, the green way, and the Cumberland River.

Concept_
The NCRC is the “eddy“ created with the larger network of downtown and the river. The divisions of space through the intersection of the green way and boathouse create moments of stillness like a rower resting in the eddy of a river .

Construct_
NCRC is constructed from stone faced masonry walls with a glulam timber frame construction. Additionally, a green roof along with other sustainable options allow the project to be LEED Silver. All materials were selected to pay homage to the historical context of the site and Downtown Nashville.
