Context_
Located in The Gulch, one of Nashville’s fastest growing neighborhoods. The Gulch is the souths first LEED Silver Neighborhood and is composed of old existing warehouses alongside new mixed-use construction.

Concept_
Broken Spoke Brewery was designed to be a community example of carbon-neutral design. The program was split into the Brewpub and Brewhouse. This allowed for the creation of an urban beer garden for the residence of The Gulch to gather at for beer and music. This parti maximized opportunities to integrate passive strategies into the carbon-neutral design while maintaining the urban fabric of the Gulch.

Construct_
Broken Spoke is constructed out of masonry and glulam timber to pay homage to the historic buildings of the Gulch. The Masonry wall create the opportunity to use thermal night cooled masses in the summer and radiant heating in the winter months.
